Germany: Berlin Wall and Brandenburg Gate

Today I got three postcards: two from Germany and one from Italy.

One of the German cards shows the Berlin Wall and the Brandenburg Gate.

Germany: Dresden City Museum

Today I got three postcards: two from Germany and one from Italy.

One of the German cards shows an exhibit from the Dresden City Museum. The Dresden City Museum is the main local and city museum of Saxony's capital. It shows exhibitions about Dresden's history.

The card from Italy shows Ventimiglia. Ventimiglia is a city in northern Italy near the French border.

Vatican: Saint Peter's Baldachin

Yesterday I got three postcards from the Vatican.

One of them shows the Saint Peter's Baldachin. The Saint Peter's Baldachin was created between 1623 and 1634. It is located above of Saint Peter's tomb.

Germany: European Researchers Night in Braunschweig

On Friday I visited the European Researchers Night in my hometown and there got some postcards.

The European Researchers Night is held annually since 2005 on the last Friday in September. In around 300 cities in 24 countries visitors can experience the world of science and research with join-in activities and other sensations. Braunschweig is the only participating city in Germany.

There I got a set of postcards of the Lower Saxon State Agency for Mining, Energy and Geology. The Lower Saxon State Agency for Mining, Energy and Geology was founded in 2006. It is involved in the protection and the sustainable use of raw material and resources. 
The most of the cards show places in Lower Saxony with a profile of their soil.







I also got cards of the Thünen Institute. The Thünen Institute is a higher federal authority based in Braunschweig. It was founded in 2008 and researches for methods for the sustainable development of agriculture, forestry and fishery.
The cards show views of forests, Geobionts with a logo of the International Year of Soil in the backside and a lump of soil.




I also got a very special postcard that promotes a greener Braunschweig. The card contains seeds.

Monaco: Prince's Palace

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including three from Monaco.

One of the Monegasque cards shows the Prince's Palace. The Prince's Palace is since 1297 the home of the Grimaldi family. Unlike other European palaces it did not become a luxurious palace, but became more fortified. Today it is still the official residence of the Prince of Monaco.

Monaco: Prince Albert II

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including three from Monaco.

One of the Monegasque cards shows Prince Albert II of Monaco. Albert II was born in 1958 as first son of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly. He has an older sister, Caroline, and a younger sister, Stéphanie. Since the death of his father in 2005 he is the reigning monarch of Monaco and head of the Princely House of Grimaldi. He married Charlene Wittstock in 2011 and their first children were born in 2014, the twins Jacques and Gabriella. He has also two children born outside wedlock. He is one of the wealthiest royals in the World.

Monaco: Monte Carlo

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including three from Monaco.

One of the Monegasque cards shows an aerial view of Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is the administrative area of Monaco. It is known for the Monte Carlo Casino.

Malta: Hypogeum of Ħal-Saflieni

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including one from Malta.

It shows the Hypogeum of Ħal-Saflieni. The Hypogeum of Ħal-Saflieni was used in prehistoric times as necropolis and sanctuary. The Statue of the Sleeping Lady (middle) is today shown at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. The Hypogeum of Ħal-Saflieni is since 1980 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Singapore: Bandstand

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including one from Singapore.

It shows the Bandstand at the Botanic Gardens. The Bandstand was used in the 1930s as ground for music performances.

New Zealand: Children's Health Camps

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including one from New Zealand.

It shows an old poster of the 1936 Health Stamp Campaign. The Children's Health Camps were founded to provide health care and education for undernourished children. Since 1929 New Zealand Post issues special stamps to help the Children's Health Camps. The card is from the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington.

Germany: Fish Market in Hamburg

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including three from Germany.

One of the German cards shows the Fish Market in Hamburg. 
I got this card some weeks ago in an envelope.

with a special postmark showing also a Grayling
The Grayling is an edible fish, which has become critically endangered in the Baltic Sea. A fresh-caught fish is said to smell of thyme.

Germany: Gottorf Castle

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including three from Germany.

One of the German cards shows the Gottorf Castle in Schleswig. The Gottorf Castle is the largest castle and one of the most important secular buildings of the German State of Schleswig-Holstein. It is the ancestral home of the Holstein-Gottorp branch of the House of Oldenburg. Today it houses different museums.
I got this card some weeks ago in an envelope.

Germany: State Theatre in Saarbrücken

On Thursday I got thirteen postcards including three from Germany.

One of the German cards shows the State Theatre in Saarbrücken. The State Theatre was built between 1937 and 1938 in the Neoclassic style. It was planned as German stronghold against France and opened in 1938 attended by Adolf Hitler. The building was destroyed during World War II, but was later rebuilt. Today the theatre shows musical theatres, plays, dance theatres and concerts.
