Iran: Persepolis

Today I got my first postcard from Iran.

Iran is a country in Western Asia bordering on Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Turkey. The capital of Iran is Tehran. Iran is the World's 18th largest and 17th most populous country. It also houses the fourth-largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Asia.

The card shows the Tachara Palace of Persepolis in Shiraz. Persepolis was founded in 518 BC and was the capital of the Achaemenid Empire. It is an important archaeological site. Persepolis is since 1979 an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

With nice stamps:
Persian Alphabet
World Child Day (issued 08-11-2013)

Thank You very much David!
