On Tuesday I got five postcards from my recent trip to Vienna.
One of them shows the Naturhistorisches Museum in Vienna. The Naturhistorisches Museum is one of the most important museums in the World and one of Austria's largest museums. The collection of the museum was established in 1748. The building was built at the behest of Franz Joseph I and was opened in 1889.

Two cards I bought at the museum show details of the building. One shows the Darwin ape from the frieze in the dome and the other shows the beautiful decorated staircase.
Another card shows the famous painting of Francis Stephen shown in the staircase. Francis Stephen was married with Empress Maria Theresia and was a big supporter of art and science.
The other cards show famous exhibits from the Naturhistorisches Museum. They show the diamond and gemstone bouquet, the Venus of Willendorf, skeleton and model of a Dodo and two dinosaurs.
