On Thursday I got not only six postcards but also two covers including one from Japan.

Inside were seven Japanese postcards.
The first of them shows Aoshima in the Miyazaki Prefecture. Aoshima is an small island known for its rock formations.

The second card shows Sakurajima in the Kagoshima Prefecture. The Sakurajima is an active volcano.

The third card shows the Saga Castle in the Saga Prefecture. The Saga Castle was burned down during the Saga Rebellion in 1874 and was rebuilt between 2001 and 2004. It is the largest wooden castle reconstruction in Japan and was listed as one of the 100 Fine Castles of Japan. It houses the Saga Castle History Museum.

Another card shows Beppu. Beppu is a city in the Oita Prefecture. In the city there are 3700 onsen and 168 public bathes. It is visited by around 12million people every year.

I also got a postcard of the Mount Aso. Mount Aso is the largest active volcano in Japan and has one of the largest calderas in the World. It is located in the Kumamoto Prefecture.

Another card shows the Glover's Residence in Nagasaki in the Nagasaki Prefecture. The Glover's Residence was built by the Scottish merchant Thomas Blake Glover. It is the oldest Western style house surviving in Japan. It is known as setting of the opera Madama Butterfly. As one of the Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution is the Glover's Residence since 2015 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The last card shows the Peace Statue at Nagasaki Peace Park. The Nagasaki Peace Park opened in 1955. It was built in commemoration of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on 9th August 1945 during World War II.

Thank You very much Kenji!
