New Zealand: Mount Ngauruhoe

One of the nine cards that arrived during my absence is from New Zealand.

It shows the Mount Ngauruhoe at the Tongariro National Park. The Mount Ngauruhoe is an active volcano. During the 20th century it erupted 45 times, making it one of the most active volcanoes of this century. Its most recent eruption was in 1974. It was used as stand-in for Mount Doom in the The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The Tongariro National Park is since 1990 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

On the backside is a sticker showing a New Zealand Falcon.
With a matching stamp:
New Zealand's UNESCO World Heritage Sites (two from set of six) (issued 05-08-2015)

Thank You very much Sharon!
