Today I got three cards: two from Indonesia and one from Japan.
One of the cards from Indonesia shows two puppets of the Wayang Kulit Theatre. The Wayang Kulit Theatre is a type of shadow play from Java. The puppets of the theatre are carefully handcrafted flat leather shadow puppets. They are manipulated by the dalang, the master puppeteer. The imaginative tales are still very popular today. The Wayang puppet theatre is since 2008 an Intangible Heritage of the UNESCO.
