Germany: History of Fulda

On Tuesday I got two postcards: one from Germany and one from China.

The card from Germany is the Chronicle card of Fulda. In 744 the Fulda Monastery was founded and soon a village arose near it, which got the town privileges in 1157. The town had its cultural and economic heyday in the 18th century. The Fulda Cathedral, the burial place of Saint Boniface and the seat of the Diocese of Fulda, was built between 1704 and 1712.

Stamp:
Dresden (from set of two) (issued 03-04-2014)

Thank You very much Fabian!
