Germany: Heiliger Sand in Worms

On Tuesday I got eight postcards: three from Germany, one from Brazil, my first card from Rwanda, one from Thailand, one from Andorra and one from Russia.

One of the cards from Germany shows the Heiliger Sand in Worms. The Heiliger Sand is the oldest surviving Jewish cemetery in Europe. It was closed in 1911, when a new cemetery was opened. It is the last resting place of Meir of Rothenburg and Yaakov ben Moshe Levi Moelin. As part of the ShUM cities it seeks for the inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

EDIT: The ShUM Sites of Speyer, Worms and Mainz were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2021.

Thank You very much U from JULy!
