United Kingdom: Kew Gardens

On Saturday I got two postcards: one from the United Kingdom and one from Germany.

The card from the United Kingdom shows the Kew Gardens. The Kew Gardens were established in 1759 and since then they made a significant and uninterrupted contribution to the study of plant diversity and economic botany. They are especially known for their Victorian glasshouses, the Palm House and the Temperate House, and are also home to one of the largest herbariums in the World. Since 2003 are the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
