Maldives: Flag

On 21st August I got my first written and stamped postcard from the Maldives.

The Maldives is a country in the Indian Ocean. It is the smallest country in Asia and the World's lowest country. Since 1965 it is independent from the United Kingdom. In recent years the Maldives became a popular tourist destination, although it is in danger due to the rising sea levels. Malé is the country's capital and largest city.

The card shows the Flag of the Maldives. The Flag of the Maldives was adopted in 1965. The red rectangle represents the boldness of the nation's heroes, the green rectangle symbolises peace and prosperity and the white crescent moon stands for the Islamic faith.

Stamp:
Underwater Life (from set of three(?)) (issued 17-10-2016)

Thank You very much Matthew!
