Germany: Hermannsdenkmal

On 1st October I got three postcards: two from Germany and one from Italy.

One of the cards from Germany shows a close-up of the head of the Hermannsdenkmal. The Hermannsdenkmal was built between 1838 and 1875 to commemorate the Battle of the Teutoborg Forest. It is the highest statue in Germany and was until 1886 also the biggest statue in the World.

Stamp:
Cornflower (issued 01-07-2019)

Thank You very much Marcel!
