On 19th January I got two postcards: one from Canada and one from Singapore.
The card from Canada shows The Empress in Victoria, British Columbia. The Empress, a hotel, was opened in 1908. It is considered to be one of Canada's grand railway hotels and was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981.
Three stamps were used on the card. On the right are two Christmas stamps and the left one commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Red River Resistance (issued 06-11-2019), the first crisis the new federal government faced following Canadian Confederation in 1867, which was one of the early stages of establishing today's Canadian province of Manitoba. They got cancelled with a pictorial postmark in Victoria. It looks like it is from Chinatown.
