USA: Maryland

On 21st July I got four postcards: one from the USA, one from Finland, one from Austria and one from Taiwan.

The card from the USA shows a map of Maryland. Maryland was one of the original Thirteen Colonies and was founded as haven for persecuted Catholics. Although Catholics remained a minority, religious freedom was enshrined as early as 1649. Nowadays the state's largest city is Baltimore, while Annapolis is the capital.
