France: Tarbes

On 16th October I got two postcards: one from France and one from Japan.

The card from France shows three views of Tarbes. Tarbes is a city in Occitania and the capital of the historic region Bigorre and the Hautes-Pyrénées Department. The image in the middle shows the Massey Museum, a museum about the Hussars which also presents a rich collection of fine arts. On the right is the Sainte-Thérèse Church and on the right you can see the monument to Ferdinand Foch, the Supreme Allied Commander during World War I who was born in Tarbes in 1851.

Tarbes also has many fountains, of which one is shown on the stamp used here. It was issued on 24th June 2019 and was cancelled in the philatelic shop in Tarbes.

Thank You very much William!
