France: Angers

On 3rd February I got a postcard from France.

It shows the Angers Cathedral. Angers is a big city in western France. It was the cradle of the Plantagenet dynasty and became one of the intellectual centers of Europa during the reign of RenĂ© of Anjou in the 15th century. Today it is the seat of the Community Plant Variety Office, an agency of the European Union administering a system of plant variety rights, a form of intellectual property right relating to plants.

The stamp shows Daniel Boulanger. Boulanger was a French novelist, playwright, poet and screenwriter who also played secondary roles in films. Unfortunately I have not seen any of his movies. The stamp was issued on 24th January 2022, which would have been Boulanger's Birth Centenary.

Thank You very much William!
