Germany: Darmstadt Artists' Colony Mathildenhöhe

On Monday I got a postcard from Germany.

It shows the Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt. In 1899 Grand Duke Ernest Ludwig of Hesse founded a artists' colony on the Mathildenhöhe, which made Darmstadt a centre of the Art Nouveau. Darmstadt Artists' Colony Mathildenhöhe is seeking for the inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

EDIT: This site was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2021.
