Today I got two postcards from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
One of them shows the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge in Višegrad. The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge was built in the late 16th century by Mimar Sinan at the behest of Grand Vizier Mehmed Paša Sokolović. It is a representative masterpiece of Sinan and the Ottoman monumental architecture. Nobel Prize winner Ivo Andrić wrote about the bridge in The Bridge on the Drina. Since 2007 is the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
