Thailand: Wat Pho

On 13th November I got five postcards: one from Thailand, one from Austria, one from Japan and two from Germany.

The card from Thailand shows the Gate Guardians of Wat Pho. Wat Pho is a first class royal temple in Bangkok's Old Town. It was rebuilt by King Rama I on an earlier temple site and was later expanded by Rama III. The temple houses the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand including a giant reclining Buddha. Wat Pho is also considered to have been the earliest centre for public education in Thailand and the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.

With nice stamps:
Prince Wan Waithayakon (issued 25-08-1992)
National Children's Day (from set of two) (issued 11-01-1997)
Cats (from set of four) (issued 04-08-1995)
Centenary of the Ministry of Education (issued 01-04-1992)

Thank You very much Jobbo!
