The card from Indonesia shows an Amorphophallus titanum at the Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra. The Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra is one of the biggest conservation areas in Southeast Asia and is known for its unique flora and fauna. The Amorphophallus titanum is just one of the 10000 plant species native to the Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra. It has the largest unbranched inflorescence in the World and smells like a rotting animal. The Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra is since 2004 on the UNESCO World Heritage List, but is since 2011 on the Red List due to clearing and poaching.
On the card there is a matching stamp of an Amorphophallus titanum. It is from a set of ten stamps about Indonesian Flora and Fauna and was issued on 5th November 1996.
