On Thursday I got five postcards from Spain.
One of them shows an aerial view of Toledo. Toledo was founded by the Romans and in the 5th century it was captured by the Visigoths, who made it their capital in 531. It is famous as hosting city of the Visigothic Councils of Toledo. In the 16th Century it was the seat of Emperor Charles V. Its historical masterpieces are the product of the co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures. Since 1986 is the Historic City of Toledo on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
