Last Wednesday I got two postcards: one from the United Kingdom and one from Poland.
The card from the United Kingdom shows a Stegosaurus from the Natural History Museum in London. The Natural History Museum in London was established in 1881, when the natural history collections of the British Museum were moved to a separate site. However the museum legally remained a part of the British Museum for over eighty years. The museum is home to life and earth science specimens comprising some 80 million items within the five main collections botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology and zoology. Famous exhibits of the museum include the dinosaus, especially the Diplodocus, and specimens collected by Charles Darwin. Nowadays it is both a pre-eminent centre of reasearch and one of the most visited museums in the World. During my two trips to London in 2010 and 2011 it had visited this museum, but unfortunately that was before I collected postcards. Also after eight years this is the first one I receive. It is such a special card to receive through official Postcrossing.
Also the backside of the card is nice. Beside two older Machins a stamp about Fisher Men and one showing Queen Victoria during her Diamond Jubilee were used. The latter is from a set about the House of Hanover (issued 15-09-2011).
Thank You very much Julian!
