I just returned from my city trip to Vienna and during my trip arrived many postcards. Among the cards are four German cards.
One of them shows a German World War I poster. The poster called on the people to collect beechnuts for the extraction of oil.
Because of the British commercial blockade during World War I resources and waste material was collected first in municipalities and from 1915 onwards by the Kriegsausschuss für Öle und Fette in the German Empire.
I bought the card in the Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum.
Stamp:
Centenary of World War I (issued 07-08-2014)
with a special postmark about the World War I
