On 28th March I got a postcard from Austria.
It shows a Steinhendl. The Steinhendl is a breed of chicken. It is small, tough, agile, very active, does not need much attention and is known for its colourful feathers. Although being common until the 1970s, it is now mainly held in captive breeding.
A wonderful matching stamp (issued 25-03-2022) was used here. It is the second stamp in the series about rare breeds that started last year with the Jochberger Hummel.
Thank You very much Anita!
