Brazil: Museum of Tomorrow

On 19th June I got six postcards: two from Brazil and four from Germany.

One of the cards from Brazil shows the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro. The Museum of Tomorrow is a science museum and was designed by Spanish neofuturistic architect Santiago Calatrava. It was opened in late 2015.

Another museum of Rio de Janeiro is shown on the stamp. The National Museum of Brazil was founded in 1818 and was Brazil's oldest scientific institution and one of the most important museums in South America with a vast collection of more than 20 million objects. This stamp was issued on 4th December 2018, two months earlier however most of the museum and its collection were destroyed by a fire on 2nd September 2018.

Thank You very much Kyung!
