On 30th August I got two postcards from Austria.
One of them shows Boletus edulis. Boletus edulis is a basidiomycete fungus and widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere across Europa, Asia and North America. It is one of the most popular edible mushrooms. Wikipedia lists Cep, Penny Bun, Porcino and Porcini as common English names. In German we simply call them Steinpilze (stone mushrooms).
After the Chanterelles last year, this is the second stamp in the series about Austrian mushrooms. It was issued on 27th August 2021. I like these stamps.
Thank You very much Anita!
