Japan: Mount Aso

On 23rd September I got a postcard from Japan.

It shows a view of Mount Aso. Mount Aso is a volcano in the Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. It is the largest active volcano in Japan and one of the largest in the World. The latest eruption began roughly a month after this card was sent, on 20th October 2021. In popular culture this place has been both the home of Toho's kaiju Rodan and the inspiration for Mount Chimney in the Hoenn-based Pokemon games of the third generation, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire and its remakes.

The stamp is from a set of twenty about Posukuma's visit to Great Britain (issued 15-09-2021). This might be a nice theme for a series with Posukuma visiting various countries around the World.

Thank You very much Keiko!
