Germany: Fuggerei

On 18th August I got two postcards from Germany.

One of them shows the Fuggerei. The Fuggerei is the World's oldest social housing complex still in use. It was founded in 1521 by Jakob Fugger the Rich and still today needy Catholic citizens of Augsburg can live there for one Rhenish guilder (0.88€) per year and three daily prayers for the Fugger family. I had visited this interesting place in the beautiful city of Augsburg some years ago, but unfortunately had no cards left, so I bought this one online.

I sent this card to myself with the stamp about the 500th anniversary of the Fuggerei (issued 05-08-2021) and its First Day Special Postmark.
