29th June 2023: La Rochelle, France
La Rochelle is a city on the west coast of France and a seaport on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the capital of the Charente-Maritime department. In the 16th century La Rochelle adopted Protestant ideas and soon became a centre of the Huguenots. Due to this La Rochelle was besieged for 14 months by Cardinal Richelieu in 1627/28 after which the Huguenots lost most of their privileges. The siege forms much of the backdrop to the later chapters of Alexandre Dumas' novel The Three Musketeers.

27th June 2023: Nantes, France
Nantes is a city in the region of Pays de la Loire. It is the sixth-largest city in France and is known for its quality of life. In 2013 it received the European Green Capital Award. Historically Nantes is known for the Edict of Nantes signed in 1598, which legalised the Protestantism in France. In the 18th century it was an important port for the French Atlantic slave trade.

5th October 2022: Tours, France
Tours is a big city and the largest city in the region of Centre-Val de Loire. It was founded by Emperor Augustus and became one of the most important cities of the Frankish Empire during the times of the Merovingians and Carolingians. Saint Martin and Gregory of Tours were born in the town, but is probably best known for the Battle of Tours of 732. Although the battle was most likely not the big Christian victory against the Umayyad invasion it was often described as, the victory of the Frankish and Aquitanien forces led by Charles Martel laid the groundwork for the rise to power of the Carolingian dynasty. As part of the Loire Valley between Sully-sur-Loire and Chalonnes is the historic part of Tours since 2000 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Côte d'Albâtre, France
The Côte d'Albâtre is part of the French coast of the English Channel It takes its name from the white hue of its high chalk cliffs dominating most of the coastline.
A nice stamp about the Centenary of the Discovery of the Tomb of Tutankhamun was used here.

France: Montpellier
On 21st April I got a postcard from France.
It shows various views of Montpellier. Montpellier is a city in the Hérault department in the Languedoc-Roussillon region on the Mediterranean coast. Montpellier is France's fastest growing city and at the moment the seventh-largest city of the country. The University of Montpellier is one of the oldest universities in the World.
Nine Marianne stamps were used here and the other stamp shows the Solar Furnace of Odeillo (issued 28-03-2022). They got cancelled in the philatelic shop in Montpellier.

France: Perpignan
On 1st April I got two postcards: one from France and one from Germany.
The card from France shows various views of Perpignan. Perpignan is a big city in southern France in a region known as northern Catalonia. The city had an eventful past between France and Spain. Founded in the 10th century under French feudal rights, it became the capital for the counts of Roussillon before being bequeathed to the Counts of Barcelona in 1172. In 1276 the Kingdom of Majorca was founded by James I the Conqueror, king of Aragon and count of Barcelona, and Perpignan became the capital of its continental properties. Aragon however reannexed the kingdom in 1344. After a short French occupation between 1463 and 1493, the city remained a part of Aragon and then Spain until 1659, when it was ceded to France in the Treaty of the Pyrenees.
Many Marianne stamps were used here along a Great Scallop. That stamp is from a souvenir sheet with four stamps about Molluscs and Crustaceans (issued 21-02-2022). The postmark is from the philatelic shop in Perpignan.

France: Angers
On 3rd February I got a postcard from France.
It shows the Angers Cathedral. Angers is a big city in western France. It was the cradle of the Plantagenet dynasty and became one of the intellectual centers of Europa during the reign of René of Anjou in the 15th century. Today it is the seat of the Community Plant Variety Office, an agency of the European Union administering a system of plant variety rights, a form of intellectual property right relating to plants.
The stamp shows Daniel Boulanger. Boulanger was a French novelist, playwright, poet and screenwriter who also played secondary roles in films. Unfortunately I have not seen any of his movies. The stamp was issued on 24th January 2022, which would have been Boulanger's Birth Centenary.

France: Alençon
On 2nd February I got a postcard from France.
It shows multiple views of Alençon. Alençon is a commune in Normandy and capital of the Orne department. The Alençon lace is an Intangible Heritage of the UNESCO.
Used here are a stamp about Goldorak (issued 11-10-2021) and a special postmark showing the coat of arms of Alençon.

France: Granville
On 29th January I got two postcards from France.
One of the shows various views of Granville. Granville is a popular seaside resort in Normandy. A special attraction of the commune is the Musée Christian Dior (lower row second from right), the childhood home of the fashion designer who was born in Granville in 1905.
The card was sent with one of the two French stamps about the Year of the Tiger (issued 24-01-2022).
On 11th February I got this cover with the second stamp from the set.

France: Le Mans Cathedral
On 29th January I got two postcards from France.
One of them shows Le Mans Cathedral. Le Mans Cathedral was built between the 6th and 14th century in the Gothic style with Romanesque elements. It is the seat of the bishop of Le Mans.
The card was sent with the stamp about the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (issued 11-01-2022) and was cancelled at a philatelic shop in Le Mans.

France: Paris
On 28th January I got two postcards: one from France and one from Japan.
The card from France shows different views of Paris.
The card was sent with a variable value stamp and a special postmark about an exhibition at the Musée de la Poste about women and letters.

France: L'Épau Abbey
On 27th January I got a postcard from France.
It shows the L'Épau Abbey. The L'Épau Abbey is a former Cistercian abbey founded by the English queen Berengaria of Navarre in 1229. Berengaria was at first buried in the abbey before her remains where moved to nearby Le Mans.
This card was sent from a philatelic shop in Le Mans. Beside three Marianne stamps there is a stamp about the 400th birthday of Molière (issued 17-01-2022). Molière was a French playwright, actor, and poet who is widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in the French language and World literature. Czechia, Liechtenstein and Monaco also issued stamps for his birth anniversary this year.
