Kabuki is a classical form of Japanese theatre mixing dramatic performance with traditional dance. It is known for its heavily stylised performances, its glamorous, highly decorated costumes and for the elaborate make-up worn by some of its performers. Thought to have originated in the early Edo period, the art form later developed into its present all-male theatrical form. Kabuki reached its zenith in the mid-18th century. In 2008 Kabuki Theatre was inscribed in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Kabuki-za in Ginza is the principal theater in Tokyo for this traditional art form.

The Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art is an art museum in Fukushima City. It opened in 1984.

A very nice stamp about the 50th anniversary of the Normalisation of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan was used here. It is from a set of two.

30th September 2022: National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo, Japan

The National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo was opened in 1871 and offers a wide variety of natural history exhibitions and interactive scientific experiences with a focus on pre-Meiji science. It is one of the most visited museums in Japan and among the most visited museums in the World.

The stamp is from a set of ten celebrating the 150th anniversary of Railways in Japan. It shows Japan's first train imported from the United Kingdom in 1872.

22nd August 2022: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Japan

Hiroshima is the largest city of the Chugoku region and the eleventh largest city of Japan. On 6th August 1945 Hiroshima was the first city targeted by a nuclear weapon dropped by the United States Army Air Forces. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum opened in 1955 and is one of Hiroshima's most important destinations. It was voted as one of the World's top 50 museums by The Times some years ago. Since 1996 is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A wonderful stamp about the Jomon Culture of Hokkaido was used on the card.
