San Marino: Palazzo Pubblico

On Tuesday I got five postcards from San Marino.

One of them shows the Palazzo Pubblico. The Palazzo Pubblico is the town hall of the City of San Marino and also the seat of the Republic's main institutional and administrative bodies. The building in its current form was built between 1884 and 1894.

San Marino: Second and Third Tower

On Tuesday I got five postcards from San Marino.

One of them shows the Second and Third Tower, the Cesta and Montale. The Second Tower was built in the 13th century on the highest peak of Monte Titano. Today it houses a museum about Saint Marinus. The Third Tower was built in the 14th century on the smallest peak of Titano. It is the smallest of the three towers and completed the Sanmarinese defence system. It is not open to the public.

San Marino: First Tower

On Tuesday I got five postcards from San Marino.

One of them shows the First Tower, the Guaita. The First Tower is the oldest and most famous of the Three Towers of San Marino. It was built in the 11th century and was rebuilt to its current form in the 15th century, after it was rebuilt various times. It was considered as impenetrable.

San Marino: City of San Marino

On Tuesday I got five postcards from San Marino.

One of them shows various views of the City of San Marino. The City of San Marino is the capital city of San Marino and its third largest city. It was founded by Saint Marinus and other Christian refugees in 301. Today is the City of San Marino an important centre of the tourism with around 3million visits per year. The San Marino Historic Centre and Mount Titano are since 2008 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

San Marino: Three Towers

On Tuesday I got five postcards from San Marino.

One of them shows the Three Towers of San Marino. The Three Towers are a group of towers. They are located on the three peaks of Monte Titano. The towers are shown on San Marino's national flag and coat of arms.

San Marino: First Tower

Today I got four postcards: one from San Marino, two from Japan and one from Singapore.

The postcard from San Marino shows the First Tower in San Marino's capital San Marino (City) on Mount Titano. The historic centre of San Marino dates back to the foundation of the "World's oldest surviving republic" in the 13th century. Since 2008 is the San Marino Historic Centre with the Mount Titano an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

San Marino: Azienda Autonoma di Stato Filatelica e Numismatica

Today I got two postcards: one from Hong Kong and one from San Marino.

The card from San Marino was issued by the Azienda Autonoma di Stato Filatelica e Numismatica. The Azienda Autonoma di Stato Filatelica e Numismatica was founded in 1981 and issues the stamps and coins of San Marino.
