2nd February 2023: Burgtheater in Vienna, Austria

The Burgtheater was originally created by Maria Theresa in 1741 next to her palace and in 1888 it moved to its current location at the Ringstraße. It is the most important German-language theater and one of the most important theatres in the World.

This stamp I have included in my list of My Favourite History Stamps of 2023.

2nd February 2023: Haydn, Austria

After the Double Bass in 2020, the Clarinet in 2021 and the Trombone in 2022 this is the fourth stamp in the series Music Land Austria and it shows a Violoncello (issued 18-01-2023). Once again the stamp shows the instrument in front of a sheet of music and the composer is shown on the special postmark. This time it is Joseph Haydn, a classical composer known as "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String quartet".
