cover from Germany

On Tuesday I got not only three postcards but also two covers including one from Germany.

Inside was a postcard from Cyprus.

It shows the Local Archaeological Museum of Palaipafos in Kouklia. The Local Archaeological Museum of Palaipafos shows finds from the archaeological site of ancient Palaipafos and from the area's cemeteries. It is housed in a Medieval manor house.

Cyprus: Nicosia

On Wednesday I got a postcard from Cyprus.

The card shows an aerial view of Nicosia. Nicosia is the largest city on Cyprus. It is the last divided capital city in the World. It is the capital of the Republic of Cyprus and the northern part is also the capital of Northern Cyprus. The Faneromeni Church (in the foreground) is located in the southern part of the city, while the Selimiye Mosque (in the background) is located in the northern part.

Cyprus: Asinou Church

Today I got five postcards: three from Cyprus, one from the USA and one from Germany.

One of the cards from Cyprus shows the Asinou Church in the Troodos Mountain. The Asinou Church is as one of the Painted Churches in the Troodos Region since 1985 an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today I got five postcards: three from Cyprus, one from the USA and one from Germany.

One of the cards from Cyprus shows the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos. Since 1980 are the Ruins of Paphos a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Cyprus: Paphos

On Monday I received five postcards: my first card from Cyprus, two from Thailand and two from Hong Kong.

The Republic of Cyprus is a insular state in the Mediterranean Sea. Cyprus is a member of the EU and of the UN. The capital of Cyprus is Nicosia.
Cyprus is the fiftieth country from which I received a postcard.

The card shows Paphos. Paphos is a coastal city in the southwest of Cyprus. Near Paphos is the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite.
