Germany: Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz

Today I got two postcards from Germany.

One of them shows the Wörlitzer Park in Saxony-Anhalt. The Wörlitzer Park is located in Wörlitz. It was built between 1769 and 1773 as English Garden and is thus one of the first English Gardens in continental Europe. The park was built by Duke Leopold III of Anhalt-Dessau and the architect Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff. On the card are also picture of the Luisium and the Mosigkau Castle. The Wörlitzer Park, the Luisium and the Mosigkau Castle have formed together with other parks since 2000 the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz".

Stamp:
Glücksburg Castle (from set of two) (issued 02-01-2013)

Thank You very much Nicole!
