Italy: Buonconsiglio Castle in Trento

On Wednesday I got a postcard from Italy.

It shows the setting up of the Italian Flag on the Buonconsiglio Castle in Trento in 1918. The card was printed in 1958 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Trento. Trento was hard fought during World War I. It was a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, although it had a large Italian population. After the war it became a part of Italy and remained it until today. Today is Trento the capital of autonomous region of Trentino-South Tyrol.

With a related stamp:
Italian Mail 0,10€ (from set of three) (issued 01-07-2010)
Centenary of World War I (from set of four) (issued 24-05-2015)
Francesco Baracca was an Italian aviation ace and one of the most succesful Italian fighter pilots of World War I. He was involved in 63 aerial combats and shot down 34 enemy airplanes. He was later shot down by Austrian rifle fire.

Thank You very much Cristina!
