Germany: History of Wolfsburg

Today I got three postcards: two from Germany and one from New Zealand.

One of the German cards is the Chronicle card of Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg is a big city in the German State of Lower Saxony and World-famous due to the Volkswagen Factory. The city was founded in 1937 together with the Volkswagen Factory. It was built between 1940 and 1942 around the factory and the Wolfsburg Castle from the 14th century. After World War II the Volkswagen Factory became Europe's largest car factory and its cars the most produced in Germany.
I sent this card to me after I recently visited Wolfsburg.

Stamp:
German Inventions (from set of two) (issued 13-10-2011)
