Italy: Scrovegni Chapel

On 1st October I got three postcards: one from Italy and two from Germany.

The card from Italy shows the Scrovegni Chapel. The Scrovegni Chapel is a small church in Padua. It contains a fresco cycle by Giotto, which is considered to be one of the supreme masterpieces of the Early Renaissance and generally an important masterpiece of Western art. The Scrovegni Chapel seeks for the inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

EDIT: As one of Padua’s fourteenth-century fresco cycles this is since July 2021 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Thank You very much Cristina!
