Germany: Castle of Augustusburg

On 5th August arrived three postcards: two from Germany and one from Japan.

One of the cards from Germany shows the Castle of Augustusburg in Brühl in North Rhine-Westphalia. The castle of Augustusburg was built from 1725 onwards at the behest of Clemens August of Bavaria, the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne. It belongs to the most important baroque and rococo buildings in Germany. Since 1984 it is together with the Castle of Falkenlust an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Thank You very much Karl!
