Guernsey: Vazon Bay

This is the 600th post on my blog! Thank You all of you for sending me all this nice postcards and covers with so many nice stamps!

Today I got seven postcards: one from Guernsey, four from Germany, one from Australia and one from the Åland Islands.

The card from Guernsey a surfer at Vazon Bay. The Vazon Bay is the largest beach on the island of Guernsey and was recently awarded as Britain's Cleanest Beach by The Telegraph.

Stories from the Great War (from set of six) (issued 11-11-2014)
Guernsey went to war short after Kitchener's call to arms in 1914 and in 1916 the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry was formed. The RGLI fought its first major battle in Cambrai in 1917. The stamp shows Lt Frank de Mouilpied Lainé. He went to war together with his brother Thomas.

Thank You very much Denise!
