United Kingdom: Stonehenge

On Wednesday I got three postcards: one from the United Kingdom, one from Australia and one from Italy.

The card from the United Kingdom shows Stonehenge. Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in England, whose purpose is still uncertain. It consists of a ring of menhirs and is said to have been used between 3000 BC and 2000 BC. Today it is one of the most famous landmarks in the United Kingdom and probably the best known prehistoric monument in Europe. Stonehenge, Avebury and the Associated Sites are since 1986 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
