Germany: Johannes Gutenberg in Mainz

On 12th March I got three cards from Germany.

One of them shows various places in Mainz concerning Johannes Gutenberg. Mainz is the capital of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Johannes Gutenberg was born in 1400 in Mainz. He introduced the movable type printing to Europe. In 1468 he died in Mainz. The card shows the Gutenberg Museum, a painting of Gutenberg, the Mainz Cathedral, the workshop of Gutenberg, the 42-line Gutenberg Bible and Gutenberg's press.

Thank You very much Svea!
