France: Lyon

On 15th October I got two postcards: one from France and one from Germany.

The card from France shows various views of Lyon. Lyon is a city in the Rhône-Alpes region and the third largest city of France. Once it was an important production site of silk and today it is known for its gastronomy. In 1892 Auguste and Louis Lumière invented their cinematographe in Lyon. Lyon also houses the headquarters of Interpol and the International Agency for Research on Cancer. The Historic Site of Lyons is since 1998 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Stamp:
Les chemins de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle (from set of four) (issued 27-04-2015)

Thank You very much William!
