Austria: Strudlhofstiege in Vienna

On 30th June I got a postcard from Austria.

It shows the Strudlhofstiege in Vienna. The Strudlhofstiege is an outdoor staircase and was opened in 1910. It is considered to be a masterpiece of Jugendstil architecture, but draws most of its fame from Heimito von Doderer's 1951 social novel Die Strudlhofstiege oder Melzer und die Tiefe der Jahre, one of the main works of 20th century Austrian literature.

The card was signed during a Postcrossing Meet-up in Vienna and was cancelled with a special postmark about the 150th anniversary of the Paddle Steamer Gisela in the Traunsee.

Thank You very much Anita!
