Indonesia: Sangiran

Today I got three cards: two from Indonesia and one from Japan.

One of the cards from Indonesia shows various views of Sangiran. Sangiran is an archaeological excavation site on Java and a key site for the understanding of human evolution. It is the place were the Java Man, part of the species Homo erectus, was discovered. In 2011 a modern museum was opened there. The Sangiran Early Man Site is since 1996 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

With matching stamps:
125 years Paleoanthropology (whole set) (issued 31-08-2014)
with First Day Special Postmark

Thank You very much Shinta!
