Germany: Essen Cathedral

Today I got four cards from Germany.

One of them shows the Essen Cathedral. The Essen Cathedral was built in the 9th century in the Gothic style. It was destroyed during World War II, but was later reconstructed. Since 1958 it is the seat of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Essen. It is also known for its treasury.

Stamp:
500th birthday of Lucas Cranach the Younger (issued 01-10-2015)
with a special postmark from the International Christmas Market in Essen

Thank You very much Klaus!
