Germany: Pillnitz Castle

On Thursday I got two postcards from Germany.

One of them shows the Upper Palace of Pillnitz Castle. Pillnitz Castle is a Baroque castle complex consisting of three buildings. It was the summer residence of many electors and kings of Saxony and is an important example of the Chinoiserie. In 1791 the Pillnitz Declaration was signed at the castle. The Upper Palace now houses the Arts and Crafts Museum of the Dresden State Art Collections.
