Germany: Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum

On 25th March I got two postcards from Germany.

One of them shows the foyer of the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum in Cologne. The Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum is among the ten most important museums of ethnography in Germany. Originally opened in 1906, it was reopened at a different location in 2010 and got the Council of Europe Museum Prize in 2012 for its new permanent exhibition.

Used as postage was the German EUROPA stamp of 2014 (issued 08-05-2014), which was cancelled with the Covid-19 postmark from the mail sorting centre 41 in Mönchengladbach.

Thank You very much Marcel!
