Germany: History of Bonn

On 24th November I got two postcards from Germany.

One of them is the Chronicle card of Bonn. Bonn was originally a Celtic settlement, before the Romans founded the Castra Bonnensia at the location. It was later the residence of the Archbishops of Cologne and is known around the World as birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven. After belonging to France and Prussia, Bonn was the preliminary capital of West Germany between 1949 and 1991.

One of my favourite stamps of 2019 was used on this card. It is from a set of two marking the beginning of the stamp series called Heroes of the Childhood (issued 05-12-2019) and shows Heidi.

Thank You very much Marcel!
