On 24th November I got two postcards from Austria.
One of them shows the moon. This is a design by the Papersisters.
In 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon. The 50th anniversary of that Moon Landing was celebrated last year with many stamps. In 1970 Lunokhod 1 became the first remote-controlled robot to freely move across the surface of an astronomical object beyond the Earth and also the first wheeled craft on another celestial body. The 50th anniversary of this Moon Landing was apparently only celebrated with stamps by Russia and three African countries. In Austria however this special postmark and the matching personalised stamp were available.
