Germany: Schleswig

On 12th December I got six postcards including four from Germany.

One of them shows various views of Schleswig. Schleswig is a city in the German State Schleswig-Holstein and was for over 600 years the capital of the Duchy of Schleswig. Located near the city was the important Viking Age trading town Hedeby (upper row second from right), which is since 2018 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

I bought this card earlier this year on the Internet, as I knew about this wonderful Wickie stamp to be issued in December. Later I also found a matching card for the stamp, but as that one was not ready on the issue date, I also sent this one to me to get the First Day Special Postmark.
