Germany: Pied Piper of Hamelin

On 12th December I got six postcards including four from Germany.

Two of them show the Pied Piper of Hamelin. The Pied Piper of Hamelin is one of the most famous legend characters in the World. Dated in the 13th century, a strange man was said to help the city of Hamel(i)n with their many rats, but after he did not get the promised money, he led all of Hameln's children away. Much research on the true core of the legend was carried out over the last 200 years, but no definite answers are yet possible. The most famous versions of the legend were written by the Brothers Grimm and Robert Browning. These two cards I bought on my recent trip to Hameln and sent them with the nice new matching stamp (issued 03-12-2020) and the special postmarks from Berlin and Bonn. Unfortunately a third postmark from Hameln was cancelled due to Covid-19.
